Latest Interviews & Reviews

Note from the editor: I have included interviews under exclusive if they are private or one-on-one or in person interviews. These were not part of press conference calls or group discussions. These are exclusives that are currently published here at SciFi Vision or as part of one of SciFi Vision's own podcasts, or in some early cases at Media Blvd. Magazine.

I also have chosen to include some interviews from press events that are only open to a select few and not the general press or public, such as convention press rooms and everything from the Syfy Digital Press Tours, set tours, etc. as although they are not entirely exclusive, they do contain exclusive photos and sometimes videos that no other site has (I have started to mark some of these as "Spotlight" as opposed to "Exclusive, but they still remain in this category"), or may be about my own experiences only at the events. Note that in a few specific cases, the set tours were exclusive and specifically for SciFi Vision.

All of the articles unless otherwise noted were written by me, Jamie Ruby, and are copyright © 2017 Sci-Fi Vision. If you would like to post an article on your own site, please let us know first. Please do not use any of the exclusive photos or videos on your own site without permission (it will usually be given). You can find the rest of our published articles, including both interviews and reviews under articles.

Warning: "continue" targeting switch is equivalent to "break". Did you mean to use "continue 2"? in /home/thejrub4/public_html/scifivisionfinal/templates/scifivisionv4/functions.php on line 202

SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

One on One with Edward James Olmos

Edward James Olmos is a man of many talents, though he confesses he had to learn everything he knows, often saying, “I have become the best I can be.” However, everyone knows that no one can be that great without a lot of natural talent.  Olmos is known for his versatility in many roles, though is probably best known for his work in the movie Blade Runner and on the television show Battlestar Galactica, a remake of the old classic.

Sam Witwer on Doomsday and Galactica

Sam Witwer has appeared in both television and movies.  He has also been involved in voice work for video games, such as, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Infamous, and has written and produced an album with his band, the Crashtones (mostly Sam with a few friends).  However, he is probably best known for his work on Battlestar Galactica, playing Crashdown, and on Smallville for playing the part of Davis Bloome/Doomsday.  Witwer will also be appearing in the upcoming movie Gamer.

The Incident Will Keep You Guessing

Time travel, Egyptian symbolism, and a dead man walking - those are only a few of the themes fans are discussing after the Lost season five finale last week. As per usual, the season finale was jam-packed with plot twists and turns as well as spectacular special effects that put us on the edge of our seats and left us questioning what we actually saw.

Fringe Finale is Out of This World

There’s more than one of everything.  That was the title and pretty much summary of the season finale of Fringe on Tuesday - another you, another me, another world. Walter Bishop posited that déjà vu is a glimpse into that other world – you think you have been there before, because you actually already have – in an alternate reality, a reality slightly different from our own.  It’s an interesting take on déjà vu.

LOST Blows it Out of the Water with an Explosive Season Finale

After such a monumental season three finale last year that revealed the fact some of the crash victims made it off the island, as well as with the introduction of “flash forwards,” fans were left to wonder if such a finale could be topped. They were not to be disappointed. This year’s season led up to and filled many of the gaps between “island time” and last year’s finale scene, the finale finally answering the question plaguing fans since then, “Who is in the coffin?” (although you wont find that out until the last moments of the episode).

About SciFi Vision

Welcome! This is a place for those inspired by the strange, fantastic, and unknown. It is dedicated to those who share their talents with us and shine, whether it be on our televisions or on the silver screen. Here you will find interviews with celebrities, reviews from multiple genres, and other pop culture news and multimedia. While we originally started with a love for science fiction and fantasy, this site is no longer just for any one genre.

This site will also be home to fansites dedicated to those we all love to watch over and over again. There will also be sites dedicated to tv shows/movies, as well as artwork dealing with science fiction and fantasy.

Stay updated on the changes and additions to this site under "Site Updates," or check out the official Twitter @scifivision, updated frequently, where you can follow for live quotes during many of the interviews. You can also follow us on Facebook. Choose Featured Sites to find the different sites hosted here. If you like this site, please feel free to link to us and join our Livejournal community.

This site is heavily under construction, and much more is planned for it in the future. If you are interested in helping out with this site, or have a site/fansite you would like to see featured here, please don't hesitate to contact us.

If you are an actor/actress and have a site/fansite you would like featured here, or would like us to make one for you, also let us know.

Want more? I am also a host of the podcast  Fandom Access (previously Lost Causes; discussion of pop culture, mostly science fiction) and On the Fringe and cohost of Bionic Angels (currently on hiatus) - and you can call in or join the live chat. Don't miss out, we sometimes get some great guests on our show! The live show are usually on Wednesdays, and the podcast can be listened to any time after that, so please come and join the fun! On the Fringe will return in the fall.

Please note that all articles, reviews, etc. were written by myself, Jamie Ruby, unless otherwise noted.

Don't forget to check out Media Blvd, the online magazine where many of my articles are also published!

(New) Site Created!

Finally the day has come. I got joomla to work for the most part, so now the new site is live. For any of you visiting for the first time, please realize that this is a new version of my old site so there isn't going to be much back news (except in concern to my own articles), so most categories are pretty empty yet but will grow as I add news. There are a few kinks yet - the forum isn't done and there are a few things I need to add, like a FAQ and more items need added to the latest photos. That and I have a published article to add yet (Sanctuary interview) and I need to make templates for each section (ie see Fringe). But since the site pretty much is complete I wanted to go ahead and make it live so everyone can start enjoying it. This way it is a lot easier to add news and organize it so I can update easily and quickly! Now all I have to do is update my journals to tell that the site is up...

Site setup is pretty self explanitory - I have grouped together all of my published articles, interviews, reviews, etc. I will also have up non-published stuff soon too (like all the recaps I right before the podcasts each week and never upload, they're coming). But for now I think all the important stuff is there. If you see any errors please let me know. For now I'm keeping the full "about" article at the top. The only other thing really I can say is that if you click the "more articles" links on the right sidebar it takes you to list view and you are better just looking at the published articles link. I'm trying to figure out how to change that as well as a few other problems I'm having.

Enjoy:)
