For those of you that haven’t seen "Travelers," which Arthur Dales first appeared in, he founded the X-Files.

TEASER

A woman and her son are trying to board up their house. The father is dead, but the woman didn’t tell her son. While trying to move a washing machine to keep out the water, the boy is attacked by a tentacle-like creature, as is his mother.

ACT ONE

Mulder is called by Arthur Dales, asking for his help, because his neighbor, Sarah, had called saying that the father of the family, Jack, was attacked in the bathroom. She said that there were tentacles wrapped around his neck, choking him. The rest of the family was now missing. Dales had tried to get help.

DALES: I got the horn to the local constabularies, but they’re about as helpful as a fart in the wind.

There is a severe hurricane, but Mulder and Scully still go out to Dales’s. Scully is reluctant to believe that they were attacked by sea creatures. Mulder wants Scully to trust Dales as he does. Dales jokes with Scully about not believing. He tells her:

DALES: Don't sneer at the mysteries of the deep, young lady. The bottom of the ocean is as deep and dark as the imagination.

Mulder and Scully brave the rain.

SHIPLEY RESIDENCE
9:14 P.M.
At the Shipley's (seems a lot like 'shippy';-) Mulder and Scully can't find anyone. There is slimy stuff everywhere. They hear a noise coming from the washing machine. Mulder carefully opens it. The Shipley’s cat jumps out.

Mulder and Scully try to open up the boarded bathroom.

A deputy comes in. Mulder and Scully turn around with their arms in the air and their flashlights still in their mouths. The deputy tries to arrest them, not believing that they are FBI. Finally, when Mulder gets the gun away from him long enough for Scully to show him her badge, he lets them go.

Scully talks Mulder into leaving, but Mulder wants to at least let Dales know.

Meanwhile, the deputy sees the drain that is pumping water onto the floor. He opens it up and reaches down into it to find that clothes were stuffed in it. He holds up a jersey that says ‘Shipley’ on the back. (However, if you look quickly, it appears to say ‘Shipper’ b/c his hand covers part of the lettering!)

Mulder and Scully are on their way through the extremely bad weather when they get to a roadblock. It is so bad out that the roads are closed, and the cop there tells them they must go to the closest place.

The deputy is at a complex of condominiums, looking to see if anyone is there. He knocks on the doors, but no one comes out. He gets to a door that is slightly open. In the bathroom he finds what appears to be a man, completely covered with slimy stuff. The deputy touches it and it attacks him.

ACT TWO

THE BREAKERS CONDOMINIUMS
10:42 P.M.
Mulder and Scully end up at the condominiums. They see the deputy’s car.

They find the deputy.
Mulder walks over to the toilet, which is completely covered in the slime. He pulls a watch out of the toilet.

MULDER: I’ve heard of passing the time, but, ouch.

The deputy is having trouble breathing - there are holes in his neck. Mulder says that it looks like he was attacked or stung by something. Whatever it was, Scully tells him that the reaction affected his autonomic response. Scully proceeds to give the deputy a tracheotomy. Mulder thinks that whatever it was must have come through the plumbing and through the toilet. He tells her that he’s got to make sure there is no one else there.

Back at his home, Dales is drinking while listening to Scully’s distress call over a radio. He hears Scully say that someone was attacked by something that at that point was unidentified. He laughs and says, "Unidentified, my ass."

Mulder is walking down the halls looking to see if anyone is there, when he sees a man taking a television out of a room. Mulder offers to help him, but before the man can answer, another man, Walter, walks out. He thought that his wife and himself were the only ones there. His wife is pregnant, a week past her due date, and they called 911, but no one came. Everyone else had already evacuated the building, and they don’t have a car. He thinks that the man with the television is with Mulder, but he isn’t. Mulder looks over to the looter, and he simply tells him:

LOOTER: I’ll put it back.
MULDER: Yeah, everything in your pockets too.

Mulder follows Walter into the room. Mulder calls his ‘wife,’ Angela, by Walter’s last name, Swarez (spelling?), but she yells at him and say that she is not married to Walter, he just tells everyone that. She complains that Walter doesn’t have a job or car.

Mulder tells Walter that they are in danger, and that something is in the plumbing so they have to leave.

ANGELA: That’s great. I have to go to the bathroom about every ten seconds!

Mulder tells Walter that the "Kid’s gonna be a fighter!"

Walter tells Mulder that one more person is still there, George Vincent.

Mulder goes to Vincent’s door. He warns Vincent of the danger, but he refuses to believe, saying something about not letting the Revolution get him without a fight.

MULDER: All the nuts roll down to Florida.

Scully is checking and covering up the deputy, his condition has worsened. There is a foreign organism in him.

Mulder comes in with the looter and they ask him who he is, and he just says, "Nobody." Angela says something about being surrounded by such great men.

Vincent has heard Mulder and Scully talking, saying that they are all stranded there until the weather clears. Vincent gets his gun as the camera pans to show the creature in his light on the ceiling.

ACT THREE

Scully is checking the deputy again. His temperature has gone up, way up. She tells the looter to fill the bathtub with ice water. Scully finds out that the organisms are just under his skin, and she pulls one out of his neck with tweezers. It looks like a small tentacle. They immerse him in the ice water. Meanwhile, the looter steals the watch that Mulder found in the toilet before.

Everyone hears shots coming from Vincent’s room. Vincent finally opens the door. There is a hole in the ceiling; the creature had come through the light. Mulder says that it looks as if it not only ripped through the ceiling, but through the pipe as well. It has to still be somewhere else.

VINCENT (to WALTER): Or maybe it’ll come up through the can and grab you by the nugs!
MULDER: Someone’s (Angela) already got him by the nugs.

Scully tells them that there is no evidence that it is going to kill anyone. Walter asks what about the deputy. She tells them that they all, including the deputy, will be all right if they can last the storm out, and if they all remain calm.

ANGELA: Remain calm?! I gotta pee so bad, my back teeth are swimming!

The looter is in the bathroom with the deputy. He takes the wedding ring off of the deputy’s finger.

(After the looter’s out)Angela insists that she has to go to the bathroom. She heads there, but Walter tells her she can’t go in – it’s not safe.

ANGELA: My bladder is pressing against your unborn child, Walter. He’s gonna have a head like a tortilla!

Scully gets Angela a bucket, and she proceeds inside. She sees the deputy in the tub, and says from behind the curtain:

ANGELA: I know you probably can’t hear me, but no listening anyway, OK?

Suddenly Angela runs out screaming. She says that she saw it, that it had tentacles like an octopus.

Mulder goes into the bathroom and finds out that the deputy has disappeared. Mulder tells Scully that he thinks the reason no one has ever truly seen the creature, is because it doesn’t just look like water, it IS water, and it only changes shapes when it’s attacking. Scully holds up the jar that they put one of the creatures in that had come out of the deputy’s neck. She tells him that that can’t be true or they wouldn’t be able to see it in the jar – the water actually appears to be attempting to kill it. Mulder tells her that he thinks that the water there is just impeding it, that it needs time to complete its growing cycle. He thinks that it is using people’s bodies to lay its own spawn. Using the bodies’s water content to reproduce, to make itself anew.

Mulder tells them that they have to leave, but Scully tells him that their car isn’t big enough to transport everyone. Mulder tells her that they can take the deputy’s car because there would be enough room. He starts counting people when he realizes the looter is gone. He whispers an expletive and runs to try to find him.

Mulder finds out that the looter left, and the deputy’s car is gone.

Scully calls to him and tells them if they are going to leave, then they have to leave now.

Mulder looks up to the light and sees the creature, it has clear tentacles.

Mulder is attacked by the creature.

ACT FOUR

Mulder comes out for help but the people there lock Mulder into a room, thinking that will save them. He has holes all over his neck like the deputy had. Vincent holds a gun to Scully, so she has no choice.

Mulder is running again when he trips near the door to outside.

Angela is having her baby, which Scully is delivering.

Mulder crawls outside and sees a cat in the rain, which had previously been in the washing machine. It's OK. (I'm presuming it was supposed to have been attacked.)

Meanwhile, above, Scully sees the creature in a light that is about to break. Running out of time she realizes the solution and tells Walter to shoot the sprinklers.

Mulder and Scully are back at Arthur Dales’s. Scully had realized that the creature was in the seawater and that fresh water would stop it. It seems that the creature WAS water, and could take shape. When Mulder heard Scully yell about the sprinklers, he realized that the rain could help him.

Meanwhile, Dales is telling Mulder that Scully saved his life, with a gun to her head no less.

DALES: I’d say you owe her your life. It takes a big man to admit this, but if I had had someone as savvy as her by my side, all those years ago in the X-Files, I might not have retired.

Dales asks the two if they want drinks.

DALES: So, what’ll it be?…(mumbling)…Oh, ah, anyone for water?
MULDER and SCULLY (simultaneously): NO!
